Sakiyama Construction had its start as a sole proprietorship by Shig Sakiyama in 1954 building custom homes and many of these homes were featured in the Parade of Homes in the 1960's under the Winnipeg Home Builders Association. Back in the 1960's Shig was known for his quality of work and innovative design and detail.
S. Sakiyama Construction became Sakiyama Construction Ltd. in 1989 with Shig as president and Grant as Vice President. In 1992 and Grant became and still remains President of Sakiyama Construction Ltd.
Sakiyama Construction Ltd. specializes in residential and commercial remodelling. This includes projects such as complete remodelling of several IGA stores, chiropractor and medical offices, store fronts and retail spaces. Many of our residential remodelling projects have begun to increase in size and doing additions and whole house remodelling projects ranging from 150 K to 550 K. We also build some select custom designed homes. These large residential projects showcase the skills and pride of workmanship that Sakiyama Construction is known for.
